About Visa

Okinawa Island is the largest of the Okinawa Islands and the Ryukyu (Nansei) Islands of Japan. Thus, Visitors to Japan must obtain a visa from one of the Japanese diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries.

Please note ICEI is not authorized to assist with the VISA process beyond providing the Notification of Acceptance Letter and Invitation Letter (after registration) issued by the ICEI Committee Board. Should your application be denied, ICEI cannot change the decision of the Malaysia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor will ICEI engage in discussion or correspondence with the MOFA or the Embassy of Malaysia on behalf of the applicant. The registration fee cannot be refunded when the VISA application of individual being denied.
